Decennial celebrations –St. Joseph’s Hospital, Yerla, Nagpur

6th October 2020 was a day of double celebrations at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Yerla, as we, the Community and Medical Staff, together, celebrated the birthday of our Father Founder and the 10th anniversary of the existence of our hospital.
The celebration of the Eucharist with our senior sisters at Sandhyavan, a meal served to the Hospital Staff and a festive evening of thanksgiving attended by both Sandhyavan and Hospital communities, were the major events of this special day.
Priests who minister to us, Sr. Lorraine Marie (the then General Superior when the hospital began), Sr. Anisha (the then provincial superior) were our special invitees. After the solemn Eucharistic Celebration, a short, informative power-point presentation depicted the growth and activities of the hospital for the past 10 years. The felicitation of the pioneers which was well organised, concise, precise, brought the celebration to a close.
During the pangs of pandemic, this little gathering filled us with a deep sense of gratitude to God Almighty for guiding us through the initial years, making us relevant with quality, affordable care for the poor and marginalised. Late Sr. Stephen, pioneer and inspiration for the hospital was remembered in a special way; her photograph was affixed on the hospital wall as a constant reminder of her outstanding contribution in the building of such a beautiful hospital.
