COVID-19 has increased our faith in God. It has taught us to be generous, other-centered, and humble. It helped us to rely on the providential care of God. This pandemic has transformed our lives in numerous ways. This lockdown period made our active ministries standstill. Now in the communities, more time is spent in praying, meditating on the Word of God and interceding for the suffering humanity.
Amidst all, the online mass what keeps us going. We became aware of the importance of Holy Mass in our lives. Bread broken body shared, do this in memory of me, is seen in our attitudes. The four pillars of our spirituality; Prayer, study, work and leisure are well balanced. It has enabled us to unite ourselves with God, with our self, with others and with the entire creation.
At Anthervelia, we are surrounded by families who live below the poverty line. During this pandemic, most of them have lost their jobs or find it difficult to work online. This is because they are not adequately trained or qualified for it. Day by day we witness the increasing number of unemployed. We have identified a few families in our locality, and we help them with dry ration kits.
Seeing the poverty around us, we can now recognize our needs and wants. We learned to value the veggies and fruits grown in our kitchen garden. We also take common responsibility to build our immune system. We are grateful to God for keeping us safe and providing us with the necessary things.
