We celebrate every year on June 5, World Environment Day, it encourages worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. The day is observed over 100 countries and each year, it has a new theme that governments, corporations, communities, NGOs, and celebrities adopt to advocate environmental causes. The theme for the year 2020 is - ‘Celebrate Biodiversity’.
Today as we celebrated World Environment day, we asked our students of Lourdes English Medium School who are at home during this pandemic time to put down some plants and look after them. They found it very interesting. The sisters in various communities had the prayers organized with the theme of Biodiversity. Some had nature meditations, planting of saplings and the Eucharist celebrated in the garden. “One who doesn’t love nature, cannot love anything in life.”
