Janata Curfew

22nd March 2020 was observed as Janata Curfew Day all over India. It was the initiative of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help arrest the number of people affected by the Coronavirus coming in contact with the general public.

This was a prudent move and hopefully helps break the chain in the spread of this deadly virus which has a gestation period of 12 hours on any surface it comes in contact with. Hence the 14-hour curfew.

A personal message was sent out to all our students by St. Anthony's Girls School Management appealing to the parents and children to stay indoors and follow the instructions given by the doctors and government.

Our local church OLPS was also closed and the mass was streamed via Youtube. This helped the faithful participate in the mass from their homes.

We hope and pray that today's lockdown will prove effective and arrest the pandemic which is at present governing our lives.

Our united prayers and responsible behaviour in offering complete co-operation at this crucial time will certainly make a difference.

Chemburites and Mumbaikars have done a great job today. May all their efforts prove fruitful in this war against this microscopic menace.

God bless everyone - the victims and the wonderful health care workers. Let us hope and pray for a COVID-19 free future soon.
